Just Some Silly Fun

It's been a FUN year iNinjas.
I think you're awesome and am so glad we got to Tech together this year!

For today, we can just play around.
Here are a couple of links with silly, fun games you might like to try out. Just don't click on the ads. (Part of being a smart iNinja is knowing the difference between the ads and the good stuff. Hint: the ads always say something like "advertisement" below or next to them)

Random Game Websites:

MiniClip.Com
(Do me a favor and avoid the violent ones, k? You can ask your parents about those later, but I don't want you to play them at school. Thanks)

Here's a website more for girls.
GirlGaming.com

Here's one I thought was kind of cute :) :
FlowerShop

Avatar Builders:
Another thing you might enjoy is making your own Avatar. An Avatar is a little picture you use when you're online instead of a photograph.
These are my Avatars:

Here are some websites where you can make your own. I'll show you how to download it when you're finished.

Mess Dudes

Build Your WIld Self
Clay Yourself

Make yourself into a Lego guy!

IMPORTANT info for Green Screen Teams:

We will take turns filming, so some of you will be waiting.
DON'T waste this waiting time--that would be totally UN iNinja-ish.
While you're waiting do this:

1. Watch this Tutorial about how to use Green Screen.

2. Do some careful (safe) searching for the backgrounds you would like to use.
Here is a link to a bunch of Beach Footage . There are plenty of shots here so choose one of these for your video and download it onto your laptop (we can move it later if we decide to use the lab). If you don't see what you need here, have a conversation with Mrs. Hoffmann before you go searching anywhere else. Thanks.

3. If there is time and if your PSA will have background music, you can go to this Stock Music Site and find a clip of music you like. The clips are organized by style in the right hand column.
I think I'll need to login in order for you to download it, so once you find something, bring me your laptop and I'll log you in.

Good luck.
Remember to be Stealth and sort of Invisible. And Trustworthy.
Be iNinja Awesome!

Peanut Butter & Jelly

For the last couple of weeks the iNinjas have been practicing making videos.
So they had to do Pre-production where they wrote scripts and wrote out Shot Sheets
(ohhh, it's so hard to a stop and take the time to write the details when you have a camera in your hand!! But they did it)

They filmed with a partner and then each partner took the footage and made their own version.
Here are the finished videos.

Practice TV & Radio Ads

Here are the submissions. They're a first attempt. The instructions were:

- It must be under a minute.
- It must have music to complement the message.
- It must somehow include the key information, which is:
    Swirly Pizza Grand Opening
    Tuesday, March 5th from 5-7pm
    Highland Elementary Classroom 9
    Pizza is $1 per slice
Proceeds will go to Highland's Sparrow

1. Here is the first one.
They did a newscast and had a lot of trouble bringing it to under 1 minute. We let them keep it at 1:14, but they will lose one vote for it.

2.Here is the second

3. Here is the third

4. Here is the Fourth. This group did a Radio Ad

March 6th

We've got 3 jobs to accomplish today:

1. Finish our commercials and vote for a winner!

  • All work must be finished by 2:30
  • When you are finished go to the Share menu and share it as an iTunes file. Then put that file in my dropbox so I can post them here for all of us to see / hear. (Perhaps we can get some teachers to vote on them too...?)
  • If you are not finished by 2:30, just share what you have done and we'll go with that. It'll be fine.

2. Create Spelling lists on iPods for Mrs. Eriksson (I'll show you how. Audrey and Evan can show you too.)

  • When you're finished making your list, have me check and listen to it.

3. Have fun.

  • When you have finished your commercial AND I've listened to your spelling lists, you may explore the games on the iPods (but only AFTER you've finished the above--don't forget to be iNinjas--Trustworthy, Stealth, Flexible, Positive...all of that!)
Ready Go.
Have fun!

February 27th: Kindergarten Commercials

The Kindergarten classes have asked for our help with their Pizza Store Storyline. They want to make TV and Radio commercials for their Grand Openings, so today we need to check our Garage Band and iMovie skills to be ready for them.

Today's Challenge:

I will provide you with some audio and video files that were made by some Kinders this week and you will use that footage to create a commercial.

1. Choose a partner.

2. Choose a television commercial or a radio commercial. Here is the criteria for your commercial
- It must be under a minute.
- It must have music to complement the message.
- It must somehow include the key information, which is:
    Swirly Pizza Grand Opening
    Tuesday, March 5th from 5-7pm
    Highland Elementary Classroom 9
    Pizza is $1 per slice
Proceeds will go to Highland's Sparrow

3. We will vote on our favorite commercial at 3:15, and yours must have all the above criteria in order to be entered.

4. *Bonus: The Radio commercial will be easier to complete but will be less creative. If you complete one commercial (TV or Radio) with time leftover and want to try working on the other one also, your team will get an automatic extra vote at voting time (even if the second one isn't complete). The extra vote will give your team a better chance at winning the challenge, but if your work isn't quality, you may not get votes from anyone else and not win even with the extra. So Quality is important and so is using time wisely.

Jordan and I will be available to help you with Garage Band and iMovie.

Have fun and be awesome.

Ready...Go!

PS. The video and audio footage is in my project box in a folder called: Kinder Pizza Files
